Business Status of Appmagination

At this point I thought it might be a good idea to mention a few things, though nothing terribly specific, about where Appmagination is going. Originally Appmagination was more like a hobby, but various prospects are looking up and I've decided to turn it into a real company and a full time job.

First, Appmagination is registered with the State of Michigan as a Limited Liability Company. It is it's own legal entity, and the sole member/owner and manager is myself (Robert Stone). Appmagination™ is a trademark as established by the fact that products have been traded under that name and logo.

Secondly, there are several Appmagination-owned (that is, non-contract) projects in the works. Some will survive and become real products/services. Some will not get traction, some will turn out to have insufficient ROI, etc and will "die" before anyone even hears about them. That's perfectly OK because having all of them survive is not part of the business plan, and that would cause problems due to "overpopulation" anyway.

Some of these "projects" may simply result in applications that are sold on the App Store. Others may result other sorts of products and services that aren't sold directly to individual consumers via the App Store. So if you don't see lots of killer Appmagination apps on the App Store right away, that doesn't necessarily mean that nothing's happening business-wise with Appmagination.

Third, Appmagination does accept proposals for some types of iPhone OS contract development work and consulting. Please feel free to contact me about it. Contract work is not the top priority for me right now, but if you need something done fast, and I can work it around other priorities, then it's still possible for me to get it done quickly if the job is appropriate.

Lastly, in many cases for Appmagination to do business with another party, if I have to reveal anything about Appmagination's plans, I absolutely require that parties sign at lest an NDA and possibly other agreements with Appmagination. This is absolutely not negotiable, at all, period. I have 5+ years of startup experience in the technical industry, some of that during the founding stages of a company. I know what the issues are, I know what the standard business practices are, and I'm taking all of this very very seriously. This is necessary in order to ensure that I can put food on my table. This is because some people, even people who think they're acting fairly, will try to take Appmagination's intellectual property to use and profit from themselves, leaving Appmagination with nothing. I've seen how various misunderstandings and such occur when people are not assertive enough and I'm determined to make sure everything is very clear to anyone I'm working with.

Appmagination is not seeking venture capital at this time and has no immediate plans to. VC funding is not needed at this time.
